What is one of the biggest steps you’ve taken in your life?

Well, certainly the biggest steps were taken back in 2009. Our daughter had just turned one, and we decided to start our business and do a major home renovation at the same time!! It just goes to show that there’s no perfect time, the best time to start ‘making it happen’ is now.

What does happiness mean to you?

Happiness for me is being around the people I love.  When we get quality time together it is very special. We all know it – it’s the small moments that bring us the most joy!

Do you have a current money goal?

Our money goal is to use our surplus cashflow in a manner that is very aligned to our goals.  Yes paying down our mortgage is important, but we also want to invest funds for our future and thirdly, we have a holiday account for our family adventures. Having adventures is really important to us whilst our daughter is still at school (and still wants to travel with us!)

Do you have a bucket list?

Actually there’s quite few items on my list! I would like to spend some time in Egypt to get to know more about its history and culture. The mystery behind those structures that have been built over 4,000 year ago is fantastic!

I also would like to complete an Ironman triathlon. The feeling of accomplishment when you cross the finishing line after over exhausting 10 hours must be unbelievable.

Do you set yourself financial goals?

Sure, I think everyone wants to have the ability to live comfortably without worrying about money. A portion of my pay goes to a short term savings and another portion for a long term investment so there is no risk of overspending. Consistency is the key!

What is one of the biggest steps you’ve taken in your life?

It was back in 2015 when I decided to move to Australia knowing no one in here. It has been an amazing journey so far! Getting out of your comfortable zone and exposure yourself to new things is not always easy, but it is really worthy. I would do it all over again without thinking twice.

What is your current savings goal focussed on?

Taking my girls to Europe in 4 years. They’ll be little bit older then, so as well as enjoying the sites I’m imagining us enjoying the food and shopping together!

What is your favourite thing to with your family?

I have four children, so I try to have a date night with each of them on their own every couple of weeks, movie, dinner, AFL game, even just a coffee on the beach. It’s great to have a conversation with just them in more detail, no one competing for attention!

What’s a bucket list item for you?

I’d love to walk The Camino de Santiago. Walking this trail in North West Spain would be fascinating and with so many spectacular sites along the way. Pilgrims have walked the trails since the Middle Ages.

What’s the best way to start the day?

A coffee and cuddles from my daughter, a sleep in would be great too but not likely with kids!

Do you have a current money goal?

We are currently saving to make some home improvements. We’ve just finished doing up our backyard, the laundry is next!

What’s on top of your bucket list currently?

A huge family trip to Disneyland, staying at one of the Disneyland hotels. It’s always been a childhood dream and I’d love to be able to go with as many family members as possible.
